This helmet is really comfortable and the fact that it has mips is what sold it to me. I was looking for any color but black since I'm biking in NYC and need to be visible. I also wanted something with a lot of vents so that it can also be worn in the summer without getting too hot and in the winter with a hat under it. The white doesn't come with mips so I ordered the red- which is really more like an orange, which I actually like more. IF they offered the white with mips I would buy another one! Fits great, love the visor and that you can add a light. I added some reflective tape to the helmet to make it more visible at night. The fit is true to size, I measured before ordering and the measurements listed on the website are correct.
I bought this to upgrade to MIPS from an Allston (which I loved/love) and overall it was a good purchase but has some drawbacks. While the FL-1 provides better protection and is lighter, the helmet is less user friendly than the Allson. My biggest issue is that the liner/visor is not removable and there are no replacements. I ride in high heat and typically sweat through a visor in a 6 months or so because of salt + sun. So this helmet will probably last me less than a year if I cannot replace the liner. It's frankly less comfortable than my Allston and the straps are somewhat difficult to get positioned correctly the first couple times you use the helmet. Both the Allston and FL-1 have straps that seem to somehow slip out of position from time to time in my expirence. Despite these minor issues, I still think it's a great value. Definitely runs on the small side.
Very light and comfortable
I measured my adult-size son's head as right in the middle of the medium range. I ordered the non-visor version from REI. It comes with the dial adjust disconnected. After snapping it in on the lower setting the dial adjust on the back of the helmet was still too high and couldn't tighten securely under the occipital lobe on the back of his head, so it wouldn't stay on. If it fits it is a great looking helmet and an excellent value.
I love this helmet in a size small for my 57cm head fits perfectly. I love the removable visor too. Plenty of vents kept me cool on our recent summer ride.
