We took the original Watts helmet, put it on a diet, added more airflow, and dialed it in with a Compass Fit system that makes it easy to get a custom fit in seconds. This lid features that signature Bern brim in a shell that’s 20% lighter than the original, providing you with the ultimate balance of style and comfort. Swap in a summer or winter liner and you’re set to stay out there for any outdoor pursuit.

The innovative Dual Shell Integration (DSI) construction combines the lightweight properties of our Zipmold+ and PVC lower shell, with the durability of an ABS top shell.
Bern’s custom-integrated LED light is lightweight and easy to use. This light brings ~6.6 lumens, micro-USB rechargeable, lasts up to 10 hours, water resistance, and has three light settings (steady, flash, and pulse). Simply click in place and ride on. Clickmount light included with Hudson model and sold separately for the Watts 2.0

MIPS Brain Protection System
Rotational motion can cause brain injuries. The low friction layer allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact.

My wife is an avid road biker and after years of demanding I wear a helmet while riding, I finally wised up and bought us a matching pair of Bern Watts 2.0 helmets late last year as a Christmas gift. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago, we're riding on our way to brunch and coming down a steep pavement hill. We are still not entirely sure what happened but as she went to pass me (going about 30 MPH), her front spokes buckled and the bike looked like it hit an invisible wall. She was thrown over the handlebars, hit chin first, then nose, then visor, then helmet before coming to a stop. There was blood streaming from her face as I thought the worst... does she have a concussion? Brain damage? An ambulance ride, multiple x-rays/CT scans, a cut so deep on her chin that I could see her mandible, 2 chipped teeth and 12 stitches in her face later... her brain scans were completely negative for damage. Not even a concussion. She is now on the mend, just got her stitches out, dentist appointment coming up on Friday of this week. The reason why I'm writing this review though is because my wife's life was saved by this helmet. The front visor likely kept her nose from breaking as well. I'm still in shock about the whole thing but THANK YOU BERN for making a product that does exactly what it's supposed to do (and then some). We already bought a replacement that's the exact same one as before. That's how much we love and believe in the safety this helmet provides.
