Fill safe and perfect fit every time I’m put it on
The design of this helmet is spot on, it looks great. I was excited when I ordered the Sand MIPS, but the sizing was off for me. I tried both the small and medium as I wasn't sure which works be best based off my head measurements. Unfortunately, both sizes, when fully tightened, were too loose. Too bad!
Love this helmet. Not too clunky. Good air flow. Recommended.
My helmet just arrived yesterday so I haven't had an opportunity to try it out on my trike. However, it fits very well, was very easy to adjust and the instructions, while bare bones ,were sufficient to get it to fit just right. It looks exactly the way it is pictured, which doesn't always happen. I'll be trying it out tomorrow and look forward to feeling safer as I ride. P.S. What do I do with this sticker that came with it?
Hey there! Glad your first impressions of the helmet have been good so far! We provide the sticker to with as you please. Have a thermos or water bottle that needs some extra flare? Stick it on there! We give you the helmet to Stay Out There and stickers to show that you do!
So I initially purchased the helmet for biking through the city, and it was lightweight and durable. But I didn't thankfully test the helmet until I went snowboarding. I took a hard fall backwards into a hard packed snow (actually left a dent). The back of the helmet hit first and while I felt the impact, I'm sure it would have been much worse without a helmet. I got up and kept riding. I don't recommend this helmet for snowboarding because there isn't a google clip or ear protectors, but it will definitely do what it needs to.
Hey Chris, thanks for the great review! Glad to hear you're OK! You can purchase a winter snowboarding knit for your Summer Watts helmet here: https://www.bernhelmets.com/products/thin-shell-cold-weather-liner-with-boa . The Watts helmet model is certified for both snowboarding and biking but we recommend using a winter knit for snowboarding/skiing, it's a lot warmer than the summer liner!
