MIPS Brain Protection System
Rotational motion can cause brain injuries. The low friction layer allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact.

United StatesFantastic light weight helmet — better than the competition.
I have used expensive helmets from other big name manufacturers (some cost five times more) but I love the FL-1 Pave. It’s lighter, it has a very low profile, and the boa fit system is solid. I use it for road and gravel riding, plus commuting. For the price it’s a “must buy!”

My wife was previously borderline anti-helmet although when we met 25 years ago she wore her helmet regularly. I started wearing a helmet regularly a few years back. My wife recently confessed that she missed her old bell v-1 and said she really wished some made a current helmet that was not skate or tour de france style. I found the been fl-1 in whate and get her the medium. She was very excited about the the style of the helmet and has found it very light (i think it is one of the lightest helmets made). She also like the boa adjusted and how simple it is to get a great fit.

As someone who grew up without bike helmets and just recently rediscovered biking as a fun exercise - as weird as a helmet feels, this one is so light and airy it’s almost like without… forgetting to take it off after riding!
